Check Out What's New
We have several cotton blends in stock for summer knitting.
Floret is a soft, drapey worsted weight yarn in an acrylic cotton blend. The shop sample is a sleeveless top or vest knit from the top down ("Side Panel Vest" from Cabin Fever) that has been getting a lot of attention.
Canyon is a new alpaca and cotton blend in natural colors. From Classic Elite Yarns, it's perfect for the knit along class this summer. There's a sample scarf/wrap knit up in the shop. The pattern is in the Classic Elite book, "Canyon".
Looking for a silk blend for summer knitting? We have two new yarns to try. Cozette is a fingering weight yarn with 62% silk and 30% cotton. We used another Cabin Fever pattern, the "Evelyn Howard Shawl", to make a sample for the shop. This is a great little shawl that will work with any weight of yarn. There’s narrow lace border to dress up the garter stitch center, but it’s not fussy. One edge folds back to form a collar and it fastens in front with a pin or shawl stick. The other new cotton and silk blend is from Misti Alpaca. It comes in shiny, handpainted colorways and we have both bright and tonal colors. The yarn is 83% Pima Cotton and 17% Silk and knits as a DK or sport weight yarn.
CoBaSi is a sock yarn/baby yarn made from Cotton, Bamboo, Silk and Nylon. No Wool! It's soft and spring-y enough to make socks that hold their shape. Watch for on-line knit alongs from Skacel and Michelle Hunter. Details of the Progressive Knit Along can be found on the Skacel website.
